Artist Statement

I was fascinated by Ruby’s persona and drawn to this story from the beginning. After hearing about their special relationship with their Vietnamese mom, I was determined to help tell this story. Representation is a very important matter to me so I knew how significant this residency is. What the Rainbow Resource Centre and Ruby Chopstix are doing is incredible and I hope this film showcases that in the most magical way.
